Peter Ferrara on America & terrorism on National Review Online

This is a realy good read, you should check it out.

Here is a snip-it

"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan. "

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as Native Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

So my son has spent many weeks saving his allowance and doing extra chores to buy a Currents Aqua-pod. We decided to purchase the tank from www.drsfostersmith.com. My son was expecting the unit on a Saturday delivery, with so much anticipation he would not leave the house Saturday to go have lunch in fear that the Fed-x guy would not leave it if he came while we were out. So he got it! After un-boxing the unit we found several issues with it. We first noted there was no manual included but we thought, hey that is what we have the internet for, we can get a copy. Then we found the plastic shield/cover over the lamps had a crack in it. As we moved on we found that the blue atinic bulb did not function correctly. We decided to leave the lights on and see if warming up helped, well waiting we noted a smell, then it me, the fan was not spinning. So I looked into the fan cage area and there were no fins in the fan. So I took the plastic cover off and found the fins just sitting in there. If you look to the right of the fins there is a hole with 4 copper pens, that is where the fins should be. After all that we found the unit was missing the Active Carbon and only came with 3 bioballs. While I am not clear on how many it should come with but 3 seems like on the low end.

We have sent e-mails to both Current and DrsFosterSmith - we hope to get the unit fixed or replaced.

Update:

I have received e-mails from both Current and Drs Foster Smith. There is a replacement unit being shipped out and arrangements have been made to send the original unit back. So far, we have been pleased with the response, both in speed and quality of customer service from both companies. Very nice so far, Thanks to both!

Update: We have recieved the replacment unit and it is in perfect condition. We never did get the RMA/Return shipping  label as stated. i sent a follow up e-mail to Drs Fosters Smith and was told we would get it in 10 business days, but 3 weeks later we have not recieved it. I guess I will have to wait and see if they ever ask for it. But they did replace the unit quickly.

So I have been thinking about the ACLU and its current fight against this country, I am sure at some point in the ACLU’s history they set out to fight for the rights of people meaning to be a positive thing. But as the field became level for all people the ACLU got board and had to find a new fight. And they have found it; a fight against the American People; A fight against every person with a religious belonging and against every person who is not gay.

As I look at the ACLU newsroom web site I find it alarming to the number of suits filed by the ACLU against the Boy Scouts. Trying to pick out the unique suites it would seem there are hundreds of cases. It appears to be in the 500 range. That is crazy.

The Boys Scouts do not force anyone to accept any particular belief in a greater being. They do not shoot/kill/blow-up/torture/decapitate you if you do not accept any particular belief in God.

The Boys Scouts do not seek out gays and scream at them, call them names, or perform any other negative acts against them. As a matter of fact the very opposite holds true.

The gays, atheist and their god the ACLU constantly put up a portion of the Scout Oath, “On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country” but they never continue to read the whole Oath. For example, they never mention “To help other people at all times.” Wow, it does NOT say to help only believers, only heterosexuals or Family oriented people. Nope, the Boys Scouts work to help other people at all times. But yet the ACLU and their followers ignore the fact that in the year of 2005 the Boy Scouts performed 3.5 million hours of community service for everyone in the community which benefits the gays and atheists as well.

The scout Slogan - Do a Good Turn Daily, yet again it does not state do a good turn accept for the gays and atheists.

I searched the ACLU web site, but there is no mention to the number of community service hours worked by them. As a matter of fact, the ACLU has collected more money in court costs from the tax payers in suits filed against the BSA than the BSA has done community service. Yes, that is correct; the ACLU finds a reason to sue the BSA and the tax payers pay them to do. The great thing is that the tax payers do not need to be asked before paying them. The ACLU can file a suite under the auspices that some rights are being violated and the tax payers’ money pays the ACLU fees and you as the tax payer can not stop it right now. There is a huge loop hole in the law that allows the ACLU to bill the tax payers. But really, why would I find community service hours. The ACLU is a business and never does a job pro-bono or offers a helping hand in the community. You see, they have worked to remove God from school so we can replace God with Guns, Drugs and Police. The more the ACLU removes God from schools the more metal detectors we get in schools, the more the ACLU promotes promiscuous sexuality, the more abortions we have of younger and younger girls.

The Boy Scouts have built playgrounds, repaired public lands/buildings and furthered the good for the community. So when you see that playground needing repair or a hiking trail needing work or some other community used property needing repair you can thank the ACLU for this not being addressed because as they battle the Boy Scouts there are fewer of them to help. Maybe you should call the ACLU and ask the lawyers of this law firm (and they are a law firm) to come down and fix it for you. Like to see that happen!

Progressive Insurance funded the ACLU to fund its fight against Christmas and promote the “Man Boy Love Association” (8.5 Million). Yup, Progressive is one of the reasons why you no longer have Christmas and why we have more sexual assaults against children; Thank you Progressive for doing something progressive.

When the hell did it happen? How long has this been creeping up on us? Like our grandparents watching Hitler invading Europe we just sat and said by the grace it is not affecting me.  We have sat and watched without taking a stance for what is right and now we live in a country, a society, where you are “EXCLUDED” and “PERSACUTED” for not being gay or anti-god. Yes, the United States of America is no longer a Christian nation, but a nation of gay and godless. For those who still hang on to the idea of heterosexuality, marriage, family and believe in a creator greater than a monkey, Yes GOD!, are told that we are wrong and should be ashamed for not accepting the new “hip” way of being gay and godless.

I am also saddened as my Employer has taken a very strong positive potion on this new gay and godless way as well. I work for one of the top Anti-Virus companies in the world. I have recently asked them if they would consider donating a couple of copies of their product so I could do a Boy Scout Merit badge training in Computers. Here is the reply I got from my great and powerful company:

Hi Robert. I understand your sentiments, and please know that we are not passing judgment on any individual chapter of the Boy Scouts. However, the national chapter has taken a very public and outspoken stance against homosexuality – this is in direct opposition to <Anti-Virus Company> commitment to ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace for all employees, regardless of age, sexual orientation, religion, etc.

Unfortunately for the local chapters, the national governing body’s stance has forced a lot of corporate organizations to examine whether the Boy Scout’s philosophy regarding this issue aligns with their own philosophy – in the case of <Anti-Virus Company>, we do not agree with the position they’ve taken.

So, there it is, if you are not a freaking gay person or a pro gay organization you are not in line with the “Philosophy” and you are excluded.

As I read this, I am very confused with the words Lora used in her statement. She writes “this is in direct opposition to <Anti-Virus Company> commitment to ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace for all employees” What does a “diverse and inclusive workplace” mean in this case. I would expect “inclusive” to mean to embrace everything. But according to this Lora who represents Anti-Virus company inclusive means everybody accept the non-gay and God believing.

I am very frustrated how a group of people like this (godless and gay) have managed to use a 900 pound UCLA to force this country into such shame. And how did we the people of this country, this community, allow it to happen.

I know the godless and gay people say that this is a natural biological structure in nature. Yes, I am sure there are some DNA errors that cause some people to be gay. But if you follow the liberal Darwin you will find that since it is not possible for gay people to reproduce the DNA errors will not be propagate into the general DNA pool. As a matter of fact, the DNA change that would make a person gay should never grow beyond the low % of error that would naturally occur in nature.  But what we are seeing now in this culture of godless and gay more and more people “coming out” and being openly gay based on the cultural need to be against the norm, or what used to be the norm.  It is now cool and politically correct to be against what the norm was and what this country has spent 250 years defining.

I am ashamed of the corporate world for buckling and being afraid of supporting all groups and allowing themselves to be forced into only accepting the gay and godless of this country.  I am ashamed of the people of this county as 70%+ claim to be of Christian belief but yet agree to the change (with their lack of action) to have our country converted to the home of the gay and godless!

The Anti-virus company might be one of the market leaders in what they do, but at the same time they are of so little moral value and strength they refuse to give to all equally.

Shame on you Anti-virus Company and all who just sit there!

And for the record, I support the BSA and its National Chapter and values!

Thomas More Law Center: The Federal Government Should Take the Land to Save the Mt. Soledad Cross

ANN ARBOR, MI – Because both California state and federal courts are thwarting the will of San Diego citizens as well as Congress and the President regarding the Mt. Soledad Cross and Veterans Memorial, the Thomas More Law Center is proposing another legal alternative—urge President Bush to direct his Secretary of the Interior to acquire the land under federal powers of eminent domain.

According to Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, “Congress has vested statutory power in federal officers to acquire land for valid public uses, and the courts have held that acquiring land for national park purposes is a taking for public use and is constitutional.”

Thompson added, “This is just one of the many legal alternative we are pursuing to save the Cross as part of this national veterans memorial.”

The 17-year battle between the City of San Diego and the atheist Philip Paulson is reaching a critical stage. On May 3rd, Federal District Judge Gordon Thompson ordered San Diego officials to remove the historic Mount Soledad Cross within ninety days or face fines of $5,000 per day thereafter. The 43-foot Cross was erected in 1954 and currently is the centerpiece of a national memorial honoring American veterans of all wars.

On December 8, 2004, due in large measure to the efforts of the Thomas More Law Center, the United States Congress passed a law designating the Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial, including the land on which it stands and the granite memorial walls surrounding it, a national veterans memorial. The federal law also authorized the Department of the Interior to accept a donation of the Memorial from the City of San Diego.

Despite widespread support, the San Diego City Council declined to make the donation. As a result, a group of local citizens, “San Diegans for the Mt. Soledad National War Memorial,” obtained the necessary signatures to place the issue on the July 2005 special election ballot as Proposition A. The ballot proposal passed by an astonishing 76% of the vote.

Nonetheless, Paulson’s attorney, seeking to thwart the will of the citizens of San Diego and circumvent the democratic process, convinced a state court judge to rule that the pending land transfer violated the California and United States Constitutions. Charles LiMandri, the west coast regional director of the Thomas More Law Center, is representing San Diegans for the Mt. Soledad National War Memorial in an appeal of this decision.

Robert Muise, one of the Law Center attorneys involved in the case, commented, “The battle to save this Cross is far from over. The Law Center is exhausting all options to save the Mt. Soledad Cross, including urging the President to acquire the property through condemnation proceedings. This would be a win-win situation. The will of the citizens of San Diego, who overwhelmingly supported transferring the land to the federal government to preserve the Memorial, would win, and the will of Congress would be achieved. We must be as aggressive and relentless to preserve our freedoms as those who seek to destroy them.”

For further information on the Mt Soledad Cross controversy you may visit the Thomas More Law Center website at www.thomasmore.org.

My E-mail to Family:

Family -
I do not often send out e-mails like this, but this is one of the few times I feel the cause is worth seeking peoples attention.

We all grew up with the Mt. Soledad Cross in our backyard. Never giving it a second thought, but always knowing it was there. In a deep down appreciation we knew what that cross symbolized. The cross was one of the first places I took Pansy when I brought her home to meet the family our first summer together. It was with great joy I took my kids to see it, to show them and share with them this place I grew up knowing.  But now, the cross may never be known by other, and what it stands for removed from the top of  Mt. Soledad. The ACLU has fought the City of San Diego and a Judge has ordered it’s removal.
If you are so inclined to take a minute and reflect on really what the cross has meant to you over the years that you knew it was there and never thought it would be gone - please look over this simple web page and decide if your name should be added to the list of people wanting to save it.

The city of Eugene is home of dumb shits!

The city has made it illegal to have a portable basketball hoop if it touches a street, sidewalk or any other public path way. Sweet - welcome to HELL!

The Rules of the Game
Street hoops of hazard
By Rebecca Nolan
The Register-Guard
Published: Saturday, March 18, 2006

Hey kids - you know that portable basketball hoop Dad set up in the
street so you can practice your crossovers and layups? Well, it’s
against the law.

That’s right. Eugene City Code prohibits residents from
putting stuff in the public right-of-way, such as streets and
sidewalks.

That may come as a surprise to many Eugene residents,
including homeowners in the Crescent Meadows housing development in
north Eugene.

A quick survey of basketball-hoop placement in the upscale
neighborhood north of Crescent Avenue uncovered 18 illegal basketball
hoops set up on streets, sidewalks and the grassy strips between the
two.

It also surprised some of the hoopsters playing at nearby Cal Young Middle School.

“When we do play in the street, we’re pretty cautious,” said
Dallas Nicholson, 18, who uses the same street hoop his dad played on
while growing up. “It’s not like we’re out there causing trouble.”

That explanation probably won’t wash with Eugene police patrol
officers, who have noticed an increase in the number of forbidden hoops
popping up all over town, and want to stop the (March) Madness.

“Anything placed in the roadway presents a hazard, whether it’s a
parked car or a fixed object,” said Sgt. Derel Schulz, head of the
department’s traffic enforcement unit. “The more obstacles in the
roadway, the greater the hazard.”

Schulz said he had to look into the law about two years ago
when residents of one neighborhood put 3-foot-tall yellow plastic
silhouettes of children in the street to caution drivers against
speeding.

His conclusion at the time: “You can’t put things in the road.”

The popular freestanding hoops, which cost anywhere from $100
to $800, are fine as long as they’re on driveways or other private
property.

But when placed on roads or sidewalks, they impede traffic,
take up valuable on-street parking and can sometimes interfere with
emergency vehicles.

They also can hamper visibility and prevent street sweepers from cleaning the roads.

The illicit hoops also encourage children to play in the street, a violation of pedestrian laws, Schulz said.

“Pedestrian laws specifically state that the only time you can
be in the roadway is when you’re crossing the roadway,” he said.
“People need to understand that the roadways are designed for traffic.”

Basketball players such as Josh Beard, 19, say there simply
aren’t enough public hoops to play on and that street hoops are a safe
alternative.

He says it’s become increasingly difficult to play on public school courts, many of which have been closed to after-hours use.

“I play anywhere I can,” Beard, said. “I don’t see why they’re
cracking down on us. They did it when they were kids and they turned
out all right.”

Police know that kids who play in the streets aren’t reckless
lawbreakers and parents who erect the hoops aren’t uncaring scofflaws.

“Generally the object is placed there with the best of intentions, not knowing the dangers,” Schulz said.

A quick explanation of the hazards and the code usually
convinces the owners that repositioning the device is a good idea, he
said.

Enforcement typically falls to the city Public Works
Department, which can remove anything that poses an immediate safety
hazard, said Tom Larsen, city traffic engineer.

Larsen said he can’t remember the city confiscating a basketball hoop in several years.

Typically the city sends the owner a letter asking them to remove the item.

But even that is rare. City workers don’t have time to drive
around looking for outlaw hoops. They usually respond only when someone
complains about someone else’s hoop.

“We don’t go out and aggressively enforce this,” Larsen said.
“Generally we’d rather work with the homeowners” to solve the problem.
