Peter Ferrara on America & terrorism on National Review Online
This is a realy good read, you should check it out.
Here is a snip-it
"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan. "
An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as Native Americans.
An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

ACLU builds a park - HAHA - got ya
So I have been thinking about the ACLU and its current fight against this country, I am sure at some point in the ACLU’s history they set out to fight for the rights of people meaning to be a positive thing. But as the field became level for all people the ACLU got board and had to find a new fight. And they have found it; a fight against the American People; A fight against every person with a religious belonging and against every person who is not gay.
As I look at the ACLU newsroom web site I find it alarming to the number of suits filed by the ACLU against the Boy Scouts. Trying to pick out the unique suites it would seem there are hundreds of cases. It appears to be in the 500 range. That is crazy.
The Boys Scouts do not force anyone to accept any particular belief in a greater being. They do not shoot/kill/blow-up/torture/decapitate you if you do not accept any particular belief in God.
The Boys Scouts do not seek out gays and scream at them, call them names, or perform any other negative acts against them. As a matter of fact the very opposite holds true.
The gays, atheist and their god the ACLU constantly put up a portion of the Scout Oath, “On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country” but they never continue to read the whole Oath. For example, they never mention “To help other people at all times.” Wow, it does NOT say to help only believers, only heterosexuals or Family oriented people. Nope, the Boys Scouts work to help other people at all times. But yet the ACLU and their followers ignore the fact that in the year of 2005 the Boy Scouts performed 3.5 million hours of community service for everyone in the community which benefits the gays and atheists as well.
The scout Slogan - Do a Good Turn Daily, yet again it does not state do a good turn accept for the gays and atheists.
I searched the ACLU web site, but there is no mention to the number of community service hours worked by them. As a matter of fact, the ACLU has collected more money in court costs from the tax payers in suits filed against the BSA than the BSA has done community service. Yes, that is correct; the ACLU finds a reason to sue the BSA and the tax payers pay them to do. The great thing is that the tax payers do not need to be asked before paying them. The ACLU can file a suite under the auspices that some rights are being violated and the tax payers’ money pays the ACLU fees and you as the tax payer can not stop it right now. There is a huge loop hole in the law that allows the ACLU to bill the tax payers. But really, why would I find community service hours. The ACLU is a business and never does a job pro-bono or offers a helping hand in the community. You see, they have worked to remove God from school so we can replace God with Guns, Drugs and Police. The more the ACLU removes God from schools the more metal detectors we get in schools, the more the ACLU promotes promiscuous sexuality, the more abortions we have of younger and younger girls.
The Boy Scouts have built playgrounds, repaired public lands/buildings and furthered the good for the community. So when you see that playground needing repair or a hiking trail needing work or some other community used property needing repair you can thank the ACLU for this not being addressed because as they battle the Boy Scouts there are fewer of them to help. Maybe you should call the ACLU and ask the lawyers of this law firm (and they are a law firm) to come down and fix it for you. Like to see that happen!
Progressive Insurance funded the ACLU to fund its fight against Christmas and promote the “Man Boy Love Association” (8.5 Million). Yup, Progressive is one of the reasons why you no longer have Christmas and why we have more sexual assaults against children; Thank you Progressive for doing something progressive.

Thomas More Law Center: The Federal Government Should Take the Land to Save the Mt. Soledad Cross
According to Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, “Congress has vested statutory power in federal officers to acquire land for valid public uses, and the courts have held that acquiring land for national park purposes is a taking for public use and is constitutional.”
Thompson added, “This is just one of the many legal alternative we are pursuing to save the Cross as part of this national veterans memorial.”
The 17-year battle between the City of San Diego and the atheist Philip Paulson is reaching a critical stage. On May 3rd, Federal District Judge Gordon Thompson ordered San Diego officials to remove the historic Mount Soledad Cross within ninety days or face fines of $5,000 per day thereafter. The 43-foot Cross was erected in 1954 and currently is the centerpiece of a national memorial honoring American veterans of all wars.
On December 8, 2004, due in large measure to the efforts of the Thomas More Law Center, the United States Congress passed a law designating the Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial, including the land on which it stands and the granite memorial walls surrounding it, a national veterans memorial. The federal law also authorized the Department of the Interior to accept a donation of the Memorial from the City of San Diego.
Despite widespread support, the San Diego City Council declined to make the donation. As a result, a group of local citizens, “San Diegans for the Mt. Soledad National War Memorial,” obtained the necessary signatures to place the issue on the July 2005 special election ballot as Proposition A. The ballot proposal passed by an astonishing 76% of the vote.
Nonetheless, Paulson’s attorney, seeking to thwart the will of the citizens of San Diego and circumvent the democratic process, convinced a state court judge to rule that the pending land transfer violated the California and United States Constitutions. Charles LiMandri, the west coast regional director of the Thomas More Law Center, is representing San Diegans for the Mt. Soledad National War Memorial in an appeal of this decision.
Robert Muise, one of the Law Center attorneys involved in the case, commented, “The battle to save this Cross is far from over. The Law Center is exhausting all options to save the Mt. Soledad Cross, including urging the President to acquire the property through condemnation proceedings. This would be a win-win situation. The will of the citizens of San Diego, who overwhelmingly supported transferring the land to the federal government to preserve the Memorial, would win, and the will of Congress would be achieved. We must be as aggressive and relentless to preserve our freedoms as those who seek to destroy them.”

My E-mail to Family:
Family -We all grew up with the Mt. Soledad Cross in our backyard. Never giving it a second thought, but always knowing it was there. In a deep down appreciation we knew what that cross symbolized. The cross was one of the first places I took Pansy when I brought her home to meet the family our first summer together. It was with great joy I took my kids to see it, to show them and share with them this place I grew up knowing. But now, the cross may never be known by other, and what it stands for removed from the top of Mt. Soledad. The ACLU has fought the City of San Diego and a Judge has ordered it’s removal.
If you are so inclined to take a minute and reflect on really what the cross has meant to you over the years that you knew it was there and never thought it would be gone - please look over this simple web page and decide if your name should be added to the list of people wanting to save it.

commercialization of the Internet
The nation’s largest telephone and cable companies are crafting an alarming set of strategies that would transform the free, open and nondiscriminatory Internet of today to a privately run and branded service that would charge a fee for virtually everything we do online.
Verizon, Comcast, Bell South and other communications giants are developing strategies that would track and store information on our every move in cyberspace in a vast data-collection and marketing system, the scope of which could rival the National Security Agency. According to white papers now being circulated in the cable, telephone and telecommunications industries, those with the deepest pockets–corporations, special-interest groups and major advertisers–would get preferred treatment. Content from these providers would have first priority on our computer and television screens, while information seen as undesirable, such as peer-to-peer communications, could be relegated to a slow lane or simply shut out.

If you have kids, you know from time to time they can come off with comments that just makes you stop, pause and then laugh your @ss off. Well, just one of those moments has happened to us.
A couple of weeks ago, the city of Eugene was very cold and ice was forming everywhere. My kids noted that at their school (Edgewood) the temprature was colder and more ice had accumulated there.
I commented out loud, I wounder why…

Global warming - Other options to the gases
The forgotten methane source from PhysOrg.com
In the last few years, more and more research has focused on the biosphere; particularly, on how gases which influence the climate are exchanged between the biosphere and atmosphere. Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics have now carefully analysed which organic gases are emitted from plants. They made the surprising discovery that plants release methane, a greenhouse gas - and this goes against all previous assumptions. […]
And if you would like to get a similar but different angle on the global warming

Rain, rain, rain…. Did I say rain!
Well it has been days since we have gone more than a few minutes without some rain falling. The family can not take being in the house any longer. So we went out and had some hot chocolate at Starbucks on Colburg. I sure do wish they made that store larger. More often than not there is inadequate space for the number of people who wish to cherish the moment.
As the pictures show, we had a break in the rain (lasted about 30 minutes) so we headed down to Alton-Baker Park. We expected the river to be swollen from the amount of precipitation in the past 3 days, but we were not expecting to see the river cresting it banks. There are no active Weather Warnings from the National Weather Service or from the local TV/Weather stations.
But you can clearly see, there are some low areas where the river water has crested the banks.
